Your little girl won't stay "little" for long. Now is the time to make every aspect of her life meaningful, including a bathroom décor thats designed specially for her enjoyment. Your daughter's bathroom decor creates a fun, comfortable room for your daughter to relax in her own little dream world. She can bathe or primp in front of the vanity mirror every day while seeing all her favorite colors and bath accessories. |
Start with the Design
Bathroom remodeling for your daughter's bathroom can be either simple or complex. You can fix the room up with minimal spending by painting, adding or changing wall paper, and adding some girlish bathroom accessories. Or, you can go all out with a complete bath remodel project and change the tub, vanity sink, mirror, toilet, flooring, and walls. This would require quite a bit of work and money, but may be necessary if the bathroom is really old and needs to be remodeled.
With complete remodels, choose bathroom tile, wall paint or wallpaper, that will suffice for many years - even when your little girl is all grown up. This will allow you to change the theme and colors as she grows older. Consider neutral and pastel colors that can match many themes such as pale yellow, light pink, light blue, or cream. Then accent the room with accessories, rugs, paintings, towels, a vinyl or fabric shower curtain, etc.
Create a Girl's Bathroom Theme
When choosing a theme for your girl's bath, ask your daughter what she would like if shes old enough to decide. There are many girlish themes including princess, Disney or other cartoon characters, flowers, butterflies, ducks, beach themes, fashion, fairy tales, and others. Just be sure it's something you feel she will like for several years before spending a lot on bath accessories. If you think she will grow out of the theme very soon, brainstorm with her to decide on colors and items she will like for the long term.
Colors for Girls
Many little girls like pink, yellow, baby blue, and light green. Some enjoy fluorescents such as bright pink, orange, or green. Choose a blend of colors that's bright and cheery for her enjoyment. Add to the room's colors with paintings, real or silk flowers, or maybe even a wall mural. Use strategic bathroom lighting to bring out the colors. Also, choose a vanity and mirror that matches her theme or colors if possible.
Bathroom Accessories
Girl's bathroom decor invites all sorts of accessories for practical uses or for play. For girls age 10 and under, add a few decorative bath toys, soaps, and bubble baths with a personal shower caddy to organize her items. On the vanity, provide a toothbrush holder, soap holder or dispenser, mouth rinse cup, tissue holder, a cute basket to store brushes, and a make-up organizer (for teens).
If she's into "dress up," add a basket or storage bin for items such as fake nails and nail polish, earrings, hair bows, and lip gloss. Provide bath towels and wash cloths to match the colors or theme, and also add a few bathroom shelves that she can decorate with her favorite toys, stuffed animals, or figurines. If you have two or more daughters sharing the same bathroom, be sure to add a vanity with a double sink to eliminate stress in the mornings!
You'll want your little girl to feel loved and special throughout her childhood. Use these girl's bathroom decor ideas to design a youthful bath she'll always remember!
